Here at Origin Workshop we have accrued a wealth of experience in the production of all manner of internal and external joinery.

We can produce doors to any design – stable, arched, panelled, French, etc. We know the importance of getting the details right for both function and appearance: we make sure that our doors and windows will look perfectly at place from day one, and will perform well for decades to come.

All our joinery is carefully designed to fit the existing aesthetic of a property – mouldings matched, proportions attended to.

Glazing, insulation, timber type and seal design are specified in order to meet and exceed the requirements of current legislation in regard to thermal efficiency. Our windows are designed for elegance and thermal and acoustic performance.

We use only traditional methods in our door, window and staircase joinery to ensure tight joints that remain solid for decades to come – no gaps at the bottom of your doors, no drooping sashes, no squeaky steps.

We tend to finish our external joinery in linseed paint for best durability, and to install using oakum and lime putty or burnt sand mastic. These traditional methods using time-tested materials enable wood to breathe, and to expand and contract with the seasons. Moisture can evaporate away instead of getting trapped behind impermeable layers of modern paint or foam. This dramatically reduces the risk of rot.
